It is He Who sent down water from the sky – you drink from it, and from it are trees you use as pasture. 10 He groweth for you thereby the corn and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit. Verily therein is a sign for a people who ponder. 11 And He subjected to you the night and day, and the sun and moon; and the stars are subjected by His command. Surely in that are signs for a people who understand. 12 And the things on this earth which He has multiplied in varying colours (and qualities): verily in this is a sign for men who celebrate the praises of Allah (in gratitude). 13 And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful. 14 He has set up on the earth firm mountains, lest it shake under you, and rivers and tracks, so that you may find your way, 15 and He has set up other landmarks. By these and by the stars people set their course. 16 Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded? 17 And if you would count Allah's favors, you will not be able to number them; most surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. 18 God knows all that you conceal or reveal. 19 Those whom they invoke besides Allah create nothing and are themselves created. 20 (They are) dead, not living. And they know not when they will be raised. 21
