Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
