The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Indeed in this is a lesson for one who fears. 26
