I told them, "Messengers, eat from the pure things and act righteously; I know all that you do. 51 And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 Are quickly giving them goodness? In fact, they do not know. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 and believe in His messages 58 And those who do not associate (aught) with their Lord, 59 And those who give that which they give with hearts afraid because they are about to return unto their Lord, 60 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. 61 And We do not lay on any soul a burden except to the extent of its ability, and with Us is a book which speaks the truth, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 My revelations were recited unto you, but ye used to turn back on your heels, 66 Stiff-necked, discoursing thereof by night, reviling. 67 Did they never ponder over this Word (of God)? Or has he (to wit, the Messenger) brought something the like of which did not come to their forefathers of yore? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 If the Truth had been in accord with their desires, truly the heavens and the earth, and all beings therein would have been in confusion and corruption! Nay, We have sent them their admonition, but they turn away from their admonition. 71 Or is it that you ask them a recompense? But the recompense of your Lord is best, and He is the best of those who provide sustenance. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 We inflicted Punishment on them, but they humbled not themselves to their Lord, nor do they submissively entreat (Him)!- 76 Until, when We open for them the gate of severe punishment, then lo! They will be plunged into destruction with deep regrets, sorrows and in despair. 77
