The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
