And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat; 33 And We produce therein orchard with date-palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth therein: 34 so that they may consume the fruits and whatever their hands prepare. Will they not then be grateful? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 And [they have a sign in] the sun: it runs in an orbit of its own [and] that is laid down by the will of the Almighty, the All-Knowing; 38 And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 And a sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark (of Noah). 41 And have created for them of the like thereof whereon they ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 except through Our Mercy and as enjoyment for awhile. 44 And [yet,] when they are told, "Beware of [God's insight into] all that lies open before you and all that is hidden from you, so that you might be graced with His mercy," [most men choose to remain deaf;] 45 and no message of their Sustainer's messages ever reaches them without their turning away from it. 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 They await but one Shout, which will seize them while they dispute. 49 And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. 50
