The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning. 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 Indeed your God is surely only One. 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 They cannot listen to the exalted assembly, and they are darted at from every side. 8 Being driven off, and for them is a perpetual chastisement, 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 So, ask those who deny the truth if it was harder to create them than all the other things We have created? We created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but thou dost marvel when they mock 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 When they are shown a sign, they scoff at it 14 And they say: Lo! this is mere magic; 15 "When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we (then) verily be resurrected? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say: 'Yes, but worthless' 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.” 20 This is the Day of Separation, which ye used to deny. 21
