And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve, from the Fire! 27 Do We consider the righteously striving believers equal to the evil-doers in the land? Are the pious ones equal to those who openly commit sin? 28 (It is) a Book We have revealed to you abounding in good that they may ponder over its verses, and that those endowed with understanding may be mindful. 29 AND UNTO DAVID We granted Solomon [as a son - and] how excellent a servant [of Ours he grew up to be]! Behold, he would always turn unto Us 30 And when one evening well-trained and running horses of noble breed were brought to him 31 he said: 'Indeed I have loved the love of good things better than the remembrance of my Lord until the sun has vanished behind a veil. 32 He then ordered, “Bring them back to me”; and he began caressing their shins and necks. 33 We tried Solomon by placing upon his throne a [lifeless] body; and thereupon he turned towards Us]. 34 He said: “My Lord, forgive me and bestow upon me a kingdom such as none other after me will deserve. Surely You are the Bounteous Giver.” 35 So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed, 36 And the unruly, every builder and diver (made We subservient), 37 And others bound in fetters. 38 We told him, "This is Our gift to you so give them away free or keep them as you like". 39 Indeed an exalted position of nearness awaits him and an excellent resort. 40
