The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising guile, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
