Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall enter a burning Fire 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 (Other) faces on that day shall be happy, 8 with their striving well-pleased, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 And cups set at hand. 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And linen spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 and on the sky, how it is raised aloft, 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
