T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ TaHa. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 a revelation from Him who created the earth and the high heavens; 4 the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, all that lies between them, and lies below the earth. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 And has the story of Musa come to you? 9 When he saw a fire he said to his family: "You wait here. I have seen a fire. I may haply be able to bring an ember from it, or find direction by the fire." 10 When he approached it, a voice called out: 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 I Am the only God. Worship Me and be steadfast in prayer to have My name always in your mind. 14 Surely the hour is coming-- I am about to make it manifest-- so that every soul may be rewarded as it strives: 15 Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. 16 And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, bring down leaves for my sheep with it and I need it for other reasons. 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 So he threw it down, and lo! it was a rapidly moving snake. 20 He said, “Pick it up and do not fear; We shall restore it to its former state.” 21 “And put your hand inside your armpit – it will come out shining white, not due to any illness – one more sign.” 22 We shall show you some of Our greatest signs. 23 Go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious." 24
