He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 And make my mission easy. 26 And loose the knot from my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech. 28 Appoint for me of my folk a familiar, 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 Strengthen me through him 31 and associate him with me in my task. 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 And remember You much. 34 You are surely watching over us. 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 saying: "Put him in the box and cast it into the river. The river will cast him on to the bank, and he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his." I lavished My Love on you, and to be formed in My Sight. 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 I chose you for Myself. 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 Go ye twain unto Fir'awn, verily he hath waxen exorbitant, 43 and speak to him gently, perhaps he may take heed or fear (Allah)." 44 'O our Lord' both said, 'We fear lest he may be excessive against us or become insolent' 45 'Fear not,' said He. 'Surely I shall be with you, hearing and seeing. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 ‘It has indeed been revealed to us that the punishment is upon the one who denies and turns away.’” 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
