The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 and He has taught him the Explanation. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
