Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 How tremendous is the true event! 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 Samood and Ad called the striking calamity a lie. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 And the 'Ad were destroyed by the furious cold blast of roaring wind 6 Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 [And] behold: when the waters [of Noah's flood] burst beyond all limits, it was We who caused you to be borne [to safety] in that floating ark, 11 making it a Reminder for you, for all attentive ears to retain. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 then, on that day, the Terror shall come to pass, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Take, read my Record! 19 Indeed, I knew that I should come to my reckoning' 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 In a lofty garden, 22 with fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 Vanished has my power from me." 29 (It will be said): 'Take him and bind him. 30 Then throw him in the blazing Fire. 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 Therefore he has not here today a true friend, 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
