The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
