In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 created man out of a germ-cell 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 for he believes himself to be self-sufficient. 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Let him beware! If he does not desist, We will drag him by the forelock -- 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, Obey not thou him. But prostrate thyself, and draw near (unto Allah). ۩ 19
