Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
