Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
