The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 shall call for destruction 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
