Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 which continued to strike them for seven nights and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 On that Day shall the (Great) Event come to pass. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 And the angels shall be on the sides thereof; and above them eight shall bear on that day your Lord's power. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 Then he will be in blissful state 21 In high empyrean 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (And told:) "Eat and drink to your fill as reward for (good) deeds you had done in days of yore." 24 But as for him who is given his book in his left hand, he shall say, 'Would that I had not been given my book 25 "And that I had never realised how my account (stood)! 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 My power hath gone from me. 29 The angels will be told, "Seize and chain them, 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 "Then fasten him with a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits!" 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 so today he has no friend here, 35 Nor any food save filth 36 “Which none except the guilty shall eat.” 37
