Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 storming tempestuously 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the apostles are collected at the appointed time, 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a humble fluid, 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 For the living and the dead. 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 (It will be said to the disbelievers): "Depart you to that which you used to deny! 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
