The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 And when the mountains are driven. 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was slain. 9 And when the books are spread, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And by the morning when it shineth forth, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed one; then trustworthy. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 to every one of you who wishes to tread the straight path. 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
