Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And when the stars have fallen and scattered; 2 when the seas are made to burst forth, 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! What is it that lures you away from your bountiful Sustainer, 6 who created you, fashioned you and proportioned you, 7 In whatever form He willed has He assembled you. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 Surely, there are guardians watching over you, 10 Generous and recording, 11 Knowing all what you may do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 whereas the wicked will be in Hell; 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And never therefrom will they be absent. 16 And what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
