And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful." 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, merely in (idle) sport: 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
