The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 The mountains made to move, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the pages are made public 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 that hide, 16 by the night swarming, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
