Mention in the Book Abraham; He was truthful and a Prophet. 41 He said to his father, "Why do you worship something that can neither hear nor see nor benefit you in any way? 42 "O my father! Verily! There has come to me of knowledge that which came not unto you. So follow me. I will guide you to a Straight Path. 43 Father, serve not Satan; surely Satan is a rebel against the All-merciful. 44 Father, I fear that the punishment of the Merciful will fall upon you and you will become a guide of satan' 45 (The father) replied: "Dost thou hate my gods, O Abraham? If thou forbear not, I will indeed stone thee: Now get away from me for a good long while!" 46 Ibrahim (Abraham) said: "Peace be on you! I will ask Forgiveness of my Lord for you. Verily! He is unto me, Ever Most Gracious. 47 And I will withdraw from you and what you call on besides Allah, and I will call upon my Lord; may be I shall not remain unblessed in calling upon my Lord. 48 When (Abraham) rejected his people and what they worshipped instead of God, We gave him Isaac and Jacob and made both of them Prophets. 49 and We bestowed upon them [manifold] gifts out of Our grace, and granted them a lofty power to convey the truth [unto others]. 50
