And (remember) when your Lord called Musa (Moses) (saying): "Go to the people who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doing), 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 And my breast straiteneth, and my tongue moveth not quickly: so send for Harun. 13 "And they have a charge of crime against me, and I fear they will kill me." 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 So go you to Pharaoh, and say, "Verily, I am the Messenger of the Lord of all Being; 16 so send forth with us the Children of Israel." 17 He said, 'Did we not raise thee amongst us as a child? Didst thou not tarry among us years of thy life? 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates. 19 Said Moosa, “I did that at a time when I was unaware of the consequences.” (In anger – See verse 28:15) 20 “I therefore went away from you as I feared you – so my Lord commanded me and appointed me as one of the Noble Messengers.” 21 Now this is the favour that you tauntingly remind me of: that you enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 The Pharaoh asked, "Who is the Lord of the Universe?" 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Do you not hear (what he says)?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: 'Surely, the Messenger who has been sent to you is mad!' 27 He said, “The Lord of the East and the West and all that is between them; if you have sense.” 28 Said [Pharaoh]: "Indeed, if thou choose to worship any deity other than me, I shall most certainly throw thee into prison! 29 Moses said: "Even if I were to bring a Clear Sign to you?" 30 (The Pharaoh) said: "Then bring it, if you speak the truth." 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew forth his hand, thereupon it shone bright before the beholders. 33
