Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 A guidance and a mercy for the doers of goodness, 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 Those are upon guidance from their Lord; those are the prosperers. 5 And of men is he who takes instead frivolous discourse to lead astray from Allah's path without knowledge, and to take it for a mockery; these shall have an abasing chastisement. 6 And when Our verses are recited to him he haughtily turns away as if he did not hear them – as if there is deafness in his ears; so give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 7 Surely those who believe and do good deeds shall have Gardens of Bliss. 8 Therein they will be abiders: a true promise of Allah. And He is the Mighty, the Wise. 9 He created the skies without a support, as you can see, and placed stabilisers in the earth that you may dwell at ease as it revolves; and dispersed on it all varieties of creatures, and He sent down water from the skies and grew all kinds of splendid things upon it. 10 This is the creation of Allah. So show Me that which those (whom you worship), besides Him have created. Nay, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers and those who do not believe in the Oneness of Allah) are in plain error. 11
