Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Or do they say: A poet, we wait for him the evil accidents of time. 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 So let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or, do you ask them for a wage, so that they become weighed down in debt? 40 Or [do they think] that the hidden reality [of all that exists] is almost within their grasp, so that [in time] they can write it down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Do they have any god other than Allah? Exalted be Allah above whatever they associate (with Him in His Divinity). 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 And in the night also hallow Him, and at the setting of the stars. 49
