The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken up convulsively, 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 These will be those Nearest to Allah: 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On couches wrought of gold, 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 There will circulate among them young boys made eternal 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 Wherefrom they get no aching of the head nor any madness, 19 with fruits of their own choice 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And wide eyed houris 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 As for the people of the right hand, how happy they will be! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and shade extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 unfailing and not forbidden. 33 And raised couches. 34 for, behold, We shall have brought them into being in a life renewed, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
