The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are set afire. 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the pages are made public 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And Paradise brought near, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 The closing night, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
