The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 Who, when they take the measure (of their dues) from men take it fully, 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Woe to them! Let them know that the records of the sinner's deeds are in Sijin. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 A record [indelibly] inscribed! 9 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 10 those who give the lie to the [coming of] Judgment Day: 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 No indeed! On that Day they will be screened off from seeing their Lord, 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 Then it will be said [to them], "This is what you used to deny." 17 NAY, VERILY - the record of the truly virtuous is [set down] in a mode most lofty! 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 On couches face to face. 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given to drink [pure] wine [which was] sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 The spring from which drink the ones close to Allah. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 And whilst returning to their homes, they used to return rejoicing. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 And they were not sent to be keepers over them. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 On (high) thrones, looking (at all things). 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
