Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they hear no idle speech, 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And cups set at hand. 14 and cushions arrayed 15 And linen spread out. 16 So do they not see the camel – how it has been created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
