And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 (a revelation embodied) in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 This is how We have made denying embedded in the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and then the promised punishment fell upon them, 206 So of what benefit will be the comforts that they were using? 207 Never have We destroyed a habitation till We had sent admonishers to them 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, "Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do." 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees thee when thou standest [alone,] 218 and sees your movements among those who prostrate themselves: 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon every sinful liar. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 Have you not seen that they wander distract in every valley, 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
