The Moon (Al-Qamar)
55 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Comet (Al-Taareq) before S (Saad)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder. 1 But if they [who reject all thought of the Last Hour] were to see a sign [of its approach,] they would turn aside and say: "An ever-recurring delusion!" 2 And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. 3 And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - 4 Perfect wisdom (this Quran), but (the preaching of) warners benefit them not, 5 so ignore them. On the Day when the Crier will call out about a horrible event, 6 They will come out of the graves with downcast eyes like an expanding swarm of locusts. 7 Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day." 8 ۞ There belied before them the people of Nuh. So they belied Our bondman and said: a madman; and moreover he was reproven. 9 Thereupon he prayed unto his Lord: verily am overcome, so vindicate me. 10 And We opened up the flood gates of the sky with water pouring down in torrents, 11 and caused the earth to gush with springs, so that the waters met for a predestined matter. 12 But We bore him on a (vessel made) of planks and oakum, 13 Sailing in front of Our sight; as a reward for the sake of one who was rejected. 14 And assuredly We left it for a sign. Is there then anyone who would be admonished? 15 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 16 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 17 'Ad (people) belied (their Prophet, Hud), then how (terrible) was My Torment and My Warnings? 18 Behold, We let loose upon them a raging storm wind on a day of bitter misfortune: 19 Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted. 20 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 21 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 22

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
