Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
