The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 that they are in utter disagreement? 3 Verily, they shall soon (come to) know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 And placed a lamp therein brightly burning. 13 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant water. 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Surely the day of decision is (a day) appointed: 17 The Day the Horn is blown and you will come forth in multitudes 18 The heavens will be opened wide and turn into so many doors, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Surely the Hell is an ambush, 21 It will be a place of return 22 In which they will remain for ages [unending]. 23 tasting neither coolness nor any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
