Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Lo! He verily is Able to return him (unto life) 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
