Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated (in the Hell-fire, i.e. the faces of all disbelievers, Jews and Christians, etc.). 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Burning in the scorching fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 There is no food for them except thorns of fire. 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 Goblets set, 14 Cushions arranged, 15 and outspread carpets. 16 Look they not at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 So remind them (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)), you are only a one who reminds. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
