The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event inevitable cometh to pass, 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 and you shall be three bands -- 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In Gardens of Delight. 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 And a few from the latter. 14 upon close-wrought couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 Bird meats that they relish, 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 The Companions of the Right 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and clustered bananas, 29 And extended shade, 30 near to flowing water 31 and abundant fruit, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Lo! We have created them a (new) creation 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 chastely amorous, 37 for the Companions of the Right 38
