The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 Nor expect, in giving, any increase (for thyself)! 6 And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)! 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 that will surely be a hard day, 9 For the disbelievers - not easy. 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 and whom I have granted abundant wealth 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 Above it are nineteen. 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
