The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
182 verses, revealed in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages] ranged in serried ranks, 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 By those (angels) who bring the Book and the Quran from Allah to mankind [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]. 3 Indeed, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 Lo! We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets; 6 And (there is) a safeguard against every rebellious Shaitan. 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 Except him who snatcheth away a word by stealth, and him then pursueth a glowing flame. 10 Then ask them whether they are stronger in creation or those (others) whom We have created. Surely We created them of firm clay. 11 Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff 12 and when they are admonished, they pay no heed; 13 and, when they see a sign, would scoff; 14 and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery. 15 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised (again)? 16 “And also our forefathers?” 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 It will be but one Shout, then see, they are watching 19 They will say, "Woe to us!" (They will be told), "This is the day of receiving recompense". 20 This is the Day of Judgment which ye were wont to belie. 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
