Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what shall make thee know that which the Inevitable Calamity is. 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 that He subjected upon them for seven nights and eight days consecutively and you might have seen them struck down as if they were the stumps of palm trees that had fallen down. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 so that We might make all this a [lasting] reminder to you all, and that every wide-awake ear might consciously take it in. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 the earth and mountains will be raised up high and crushed all together. 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their right hands will say, "Come and read my record. 19 Surely, I knew that I should meet my reckoning," 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and not known my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 [Thereupon the command will go forth:] "Lay hold of him, and shackle him, 30 and then let him enter Hell. 31 “Then bind him inside a chain which is seventy arm-lengths.” 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 “Nor any food except the pus discharged from the people of hell.” 36 Which none but the hellish eat." 37
