Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
