The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 (Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said: That then would be a return occasioning loss. 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 then he mustered 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
