Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 Goblets set, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
