Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. 8 Rejoicing over their efforts. 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 wherein they shall hear no vain talk. 11 A gushing fountain shall be there 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 Goblets set, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And carpets spread around. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And how the heaven was raised up, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth how it has been spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 However, those who turn away and disbelieve, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Verily, to Us will be their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
Almighty God's Truth.
