The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 There is no doubt that this book is a guide for the pious; 2 Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, 3 And who believe in that which is revealed unto thee (Muhammad) and that which was revealed before thee, and are certain of the Hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord; and they are the successful. 5 As for those whose fate is disbelief, whether you warn them or do not warn them – it is all one for them; they will not believe. (Because their hearts are sealed – see next verse). 6 Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah's Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. 7
