And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the apostles; 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 AND [remember:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them without [an inner] truth; but, behold, the Hour [when this will become clear to all] is indeed yet to come. Hence, forgive [men's failings] with fair forbearance: 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 concerning that they were doing. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
