Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 And verily this Brotherhood of yours is a single Brotherhood, and I am your Lord and Cherisher: therefore fear Me (and no other). 52 The people divided themselves into many sects, each with their own book and each happy with whatever they had. 53 So leave them in their intoxication till a time. 54 Do they think that We enlarge them in wealth and children, 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who with their Lord associate not anyone. 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 These hasten to good things and they are foremost in (attaining) them. 61 We do not lay a burden on anyone beyond his capacity. We have a Book with Us that speaks the truth (about everyone); and they shall in no wise be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in confused ignorance of this; and there are, besides that, deeds of theirs, which they will (continue) to do,- 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 We shall tell them, "Do not cry for help on this day; you will receive none from Us". 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 In pride (they Quraish pagans and polytheists of Makkah used to feel proud that they are the dwellers of Makkah sanctuary Haram), talking evil about it (the Quran) by night. 67 Have they not pondered over the word of God? Has something come to them that did not come to their forefathers? 68 Or do they not recognize their Messenger, and so deny him? 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 but those who disbelieve in the Everlasting Life deviate from the Path. 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 And indeed We grasped them with punishment, so neither did they submit themselves to their Lord, nor do they cry humbly. 76 Until when We have opened before them a door of severe punishment, immediately they will be therein in despair. 77
