▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ Nay, I swear by the setting of the stars -- 75 And indeed, it is an oath - if you could know - [most] great. 76 it is indeed a Glorious Koran, 77 Kept in a secure Book. 78 none but the purified shall touch, 79 It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Do you, then, take this discourse in light esteem, 81 And make denial thereof your livelihood? 82 Why, but when the soul leaps to the throat of the dying 83 And you wait for the moment (of death), 84 But We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not, [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 27, Page 209] 85 why, if you are not at Our disposal, 86 Bring it back, if you should be truthful? 87 Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), 88 Then [for him is] rest and bounty and a garden of pleasure. 89 And if one happens to be of those who have attained to righteousness, 90 Then: peace unto thee, for thou art of those on the right hand. 91 But if one happens to be of those who are wont to call the truth a lie, and [thus] go astray, 92 For him is Entertainment with Boiling Water. 93 And burning in Hell-fire. 94 That indeed is the absolute truth. 95 So glorify the name of your Lord, the Supreme. 96
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
